Since her days working as a peer writing tutor at Ursinus College, Laura has cultivated her natural talent for editing through classes and experience. She got her professional start in proofreading and fact checking, but quickly moved to copyediting when she found she was just as much a stickler for clarity, sentence flow, and style as for misplaced commas, dangling modifiers, and accuracy. Since 2005, she has worked as a freelance copy editor for several national magazines, including Men’s Journal, Maxim, and O at Home, as well as Meredith Corporation’s Hispanic Ventures department and custom-published On DirecTV magazine. Outside of traditional publishing, she has copyedited for global management consulting firm McKinsey & Co. and Flocabulary, for whom she content-edits as well. Besides a sharp and vigilant eye, and a natural ear for rhythm in writing, Laura brings an easygoing demeanor, a responsible attitude, and a wide knowledge base to her editing work.
